What you should know

According to energystar.gov the typical household loses 20-30% of their cooled air to leaking ductwork (energy-star, 2020).

According to Alabama Power ~50% of your electric bill goes to heating and cooling your house (WVAU23, 2022).

A properly sized air conditioner is essential in managing the humidity level in your home to 40-50%.  Also, an air conditioner that cycles too often causes undue wear and tear on critical components and raises your energy bill.

The size and location of air return ductwork is critical to the performance of your air conditioner and the comfort of your home.

This chart shows how the humidity level in your home effects the "feels like" temperature.

The lower the humidity, the higher you can run your thermostat and still feel comfortable.
